Sonic Dancer Sharing for Arts Coucil England

dates: Tuesday, 15 March 2022: 11.00 -12.30pm

Please join us for a special interactive presentation of SONIC DANCER’S second phase of R&D, to be held on March 15, 2022.

Over the past 10 months, new discoveries and capabilities have come to light during the exploration of movement-sound-presence, as we strive to create a paradigm shift in how movement/choreography/performance and spatial presence can be supported and made accessible; advancing traditional dance processes and forms of engagement through new technology.

We will be sharing the latest innovations and insights about how sound can represent and generate movement, in addition to demonstrating a newly evolved audio approach, and the potential use cases of SONIC DANCER.

How are we affected by sensing and hearing the movement of others? How do we respond by being in motion with them remotely? How can we create new behaviours, inclusivity, and forms of sensory engagement? How does encountering remote, live dance auditory affect audiences?

SONIC DANCER is a creative exploration of technology, movement and sound. A collaboration between Silvia Carderelli-Gronau and Swen Gaudl, made possible with the kind support from Arts Council England, The Studio, Bath Spa University Dance Department, Pavilion Dance South West, Plymouth University and The South West Creative Technology Network.
